The Unnao rape case came into light after a minor girl attempted suicide outside the residence of Uttar Pradesh’s CM Yogi Adityanath on April 8. The girl took this step after her 55-year-old father was thrashed allegedly by BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar’s brother Atul Singh. The very next day, the father died due to severe injuries. Since then, the case has become a nationwide rage.
Apprantely, the girl was raped by BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar, his brother and others in June 2017. When the victim and the family went to file an FIR, the police refused to do so and took no action. On the other hand, an FIR was filed by men of BJP MLA Kuldeep, and the police arrested girl’s father.
After a long wait, prominent BJP leaders Yogi Adityanath and Smriti Irani broke their silence on the case. While talking to the media, CM Yogi Adityanath said, “The probe is on and none of those involved will be spared.”
Earlier today, Smriti Irani said, “Rahul Gandhi earlier stood in support of Gayatri Prasad Prajapati. It’s just his compulsion to take a stand this time but Amethi knows the truth. I have faith that justice will be provided.”
Well, Respected Smriti Irani, we are not much pleased after hearing your statement on a rape case. We know that Rahul Gandhi protested at India Gate last night demanding for justice. We also know that he might have done so to gain some more votes in 2019 elections. But we care the least!
What if he stood in support of rape-accused SP leader Gayatri Prasand Prajapati? Are you going to do the same? For what did we choose your government over him- To ultimately be the victim of same mistakes?
Respected Smriti Irani, a girl has been raped and she needs justice. We need justice. Period.
